Sharon's Cabin on The Sound, Sitka, Alaska, a place of peaceful retreat...

July 2, 2008, having beautiful weather today, got to be at least 70 out there! Sun shining, eagles dipping for fish! Yahooo! Spent the morning cleaning the hot tub and treating it, followed by taking photos of my flowers and such. The photos of the deer below were taken a couple weeks ago and were still sitting on my camera, so decided to add them. My friend Bettysue and I were driving up Harbor Mountain after a hike and just a couple minutes from the cabin saw this deer. We probably saved his/her life as he finally headed into the woods as we got closer. Rounding the corner right after, we came on a huge grizzly, which put into running in the opposite direction. Hopefully he/she kept going and didn't come back to get the deer.
